On the 5th of June, 2018, the Russian Investment Agency had a pleasure to hold a meeting between the Acting Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Mikhail Kruk and the Japanese delegation, headed by Mr. Koji Omi, the Founder and the President of the Science & Technology in Society Forum.
Mr Omi is considered to be a key political figure in the field of science and technology in Japan, not to mention his extensive experience in the Government of Japan, particularly, in the years 2006-2007 he used to be the Minister of Finance, in 2001-2002 he took the position of the Minister of State Policy in the field of science and technology, as well as on affairs of Okinawa and Northern Territories.
In the process of work with the Japanese delegation have also kindly taken part: Mr. Toru Fokaya – Head of the International Strategic planning and department of the STS forum; Ms. Chigusa Negishi - Secretary of the Chairman of the STS Forum; Mr. Hiroshi Tajima - Minister of the Economic Department of Embassy of Japan in Russia; Mr. Umehara Koji - First Secretary of Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan in Russia; Mr. Wataru Torii - Third Secretary of the Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan in Russia; Mr. Kuniya Asamoto - Deputy Director General of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
During the meeting, Mr. Omi invited Dr. Kruk to take part and deliver a speech as the speaker of the 15th anniversary of the Science and Technology in Society Forum (STS), which will be held on October 07 - 09, 2018 in the ancient Japanese capital of Kyoto.
It was highlighted that the forum for the 15th time will become a platform for dialogue between the greatest minds of our time and representatives of the global business elite. Synthesis of science, technology and modern business, as Mr. Omi repeatedly pointed out at this meeting, are the key areas for the future development of mankind.
In turn Dr. Kruk expressed his deep gratitude for the invitation and informed Mr. Omi about the development of the relations of the Russian Investment Agency with the largest Japanese companies and about further plans for joint work with them, regarding the implementation of large investment projects in the non-oil and no-gas industry.
From the side of Russian Investment Agency, the meeting was also attended by: Mr. Mikhail Azanov - Advisor to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Investment Agency and Ms. Solovieva - Referent of the President of Russian Investment Agency.
